Chimney Replacement Parts

Chimney parts are currently not available to purchase on Traeger.com. If you believe you need a replacement part for your chimney, please contact Traeger's Customer Support team.

Your grill's chimney is comprised of three main parts: the chimney cap, the chimney pipe (flu), and the *chimney-barrel gasket.

*Fremont and Mesa 20 models do not have a chimney-barrel gasket.

Chimney Cap Height

Grills with a chimney should have approximately a thumb's space (¾ inch or 2cm) between the chimney and the cap.

To adjust your chimney's height, just twist the chimney cap to raise and lower it to your desired height.

Why Is Chimney Height Important?

Having too high of a chimney cap can allow too much airflow, causing the fire to burn too hot. This can result in temperature swings.

Having too low of a chimney cap can restrict airflow, forcing smoke to come out of the hopper. This can result in having ash on your food.

How to Clean Your Chimney

Just like a house chimney, your grill's chimney can accrue a buildup of soot that can restrict air flow and prevent smoke from escaping the grill's cavity properly.

  1. Unscrew the chimney cap entirely and set aside.
  2. Use a non-abrasive bristle brush or a rag with long instrument such as a pair of tongs to break any buildup from the walls of the chimney.
  3. If needed, vacuum out any soot fallout.
