What Is a Wiring Harness?
Traeger uses the term, "harness," when referring to a bundle of wires that does not have a part hardwired to it. Each wire leads to a connector that will connect either directly to a part or to another connector.

Lid Sensor & Light Wire Harness
The lid sensor & light is two parts in one. The top wire connects the lid sensor to the Smart Combustion Wire Harness, and the bottom wire connects the light to the UI Smart Combustion Wire Harness.

Pellet Sensor Wire Harness
The pellet sensor has a wire harness hardwired to it as well as an additional wire harness that connects the first harness to the motherboard. Both are included with the pellet sensor.

Smart Combustion Wire Harness
The Smart Combustion Wire Harness connects to the motherboard and then splits three ways. Two of these connect to the lid sensor and the flame sensor. The third split is not connected to anything; it was originally intended to connect to a grease sensor, which was not included in the final design.
Grease Sensor Connection: The grease sensor was located next to the grease & ash keg. You will find that in some grills, the grease sensor portion of the Smart Combustion Harness runs across the bottom of the grill as if it were connected to the grease sensor. The connector is not actually connected to anything. This does not pose a problem. Do not cut this wire.

Thermocouple Wire Harness
The thermocouple wire harness is included and attached to the thermocouple.

UI (Display) Smart Combustion Wire Harnesses
The UI Smart Combustion Wire Harness, also called the Display Smart Combustion Harness, connects to the motherboard at two points and splits multiple times, connecting the motherboard, display, lid light and auxiliary fan.
