Your WiFIRE-enabled grill has several modes. Let's review these modes and understand when your grill will enter them.
Demo Mode
- Used by retailers who wish to show how the grill works without actually starting a fire in the firepot. See Demo Mode to learn more.
Offline
- Grill is powered off OR has lost WiFi connection.
- The line directly under the grill's name will display the WiFi Connectivity status- either offline or online.

Cook States
Igniting/Preheating
- Establish a flame.
- Ambient temp will no longer appear on the app prior to igniting, but it WILL still display on the controller.
- D2 grills: Usually about 2 minutes after ignition grill goes into preheating.
- Touchscreen: Grill will switch over to preheating once the flame sensor detects a flame.

Cooking
- The grill controller no longer displays "Manual Cook", it now simply shows "Cooking".
- The widget in the app does not display a specific status or mode during cooking.
- The legacy Custom Cook feature has been replaced by MAKE NOW.
Note: The legacy Custom Cook feature, no longer available, allowed users to create custom cooking cycles directly from the controller. A new feature Custom Cook Setup via Probe Goal exists in the app, but it is unrelated to the legacy version.
