Ignite

  • As a safety feature, the grill ignition must be done in person using the grill's controller.

  • Although you can shutdown your grill from the app, the countdown timer is only visible on the controller screen

 

SETTINGS

The Traeger app has two settings pages: one that shows the grill's settings and another that show's the app and the customer's account settings.

GRILL SETTINGS

To get to your grill's settings page in the app:

  1. Tap on the grill icon at the bottom of the app's home page. 
  2. Tap, Settings.

The grill settings page contains the following information:

Grill Name 

The customer gets to name their grill when they connect it to WiFi. Grill Name displays that name. 

Firmware Version 

The grill's current firmware version. For more information on Firmware, check out How to Update Firmware.

Config Version 

Different grill models may be on the same firmware. The Config Version is the subset of the firmware that caters specifically to your model. 

WiFi SSID/Network 

This is the WiFi network the grill is connected to. 

Signal Strength 

Signal Strength will display your WiFi signal’s strength at the location of your grill. Optimal strength is between –30 and –70 dBm. Check out Home WiFi Setup to see ways to improve signal strength. 

UUID 

The UUID is the grill's unique network name. This is an important piece of information to have when registering a grill and helping a customer.

 

APP SETTINGS

The app settings page contains the customer's account information, notification settings and app information.

To get to the app's settings page:

  1. Tap the profile icon at the top-right corner of the page.
  2. Tap the settings gear icon.

 

CHANGE YOUR GRILL'S NAME IN THE TRAEGER APP

  1. Open your Traeger App. 
  2. Go to your grill's homepage by tapping the grill icon at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of your grill's homepage and tap, Settings.
  4. Tap Grill Name.
  5. Enter your grill's new nickname.
  6. Click Save at the top right corner of your screen.
  7. Congratulations! You've successfully renamed your grill.

CHANGE YOUR GRILL'S TEMPERATURE IN THE APP

Your grill must be on and already ignited to change your grill's temperature.

  1. Go to the grill's dashboard by tapping the grill icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap on temperature.
  3. Scroll to desired temperature, hit the confirm button on the bottom of the screen.
  4. The new temperature is reflected above Goal within the Grill temperature box.

SET A TIMER IN YOUR APP

This feature can be utilized by all grill owners. For WiFIRE-enabled grills, timers set within the app will show on the grills controller. Please take the steps below:

  1. Open the Traeger App.
  2. Tap on the grill banner on the bottom of the screen.
    • Timers can only be set on active grills.
  3. Within the grill controller page, tap on Timer.
  4. Scroll to desired time, press Confirm.
  5. The set timer will now show on the grill control page, on the grill banner at the bottom of the app, and on the connected WiFIRE grill.

MANAGE APP NOTIFICATIONS

  1. Open the Traeger App.
  2. Tap on your profile in the top-left corner of the app.
  3. Tap the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.
  4. Find the Notifications setting and tap, PUSH NOTIFICATIONS.
  5. Tap, GO TO SETTINGS. This will open your device's notification settings.
  6. Set your notifications based on your device type.

USE THE MAKE NOW FEATURE IN AN APP RECIPE

When viewing a recipe, you will see a Make Now option. This feature sends recipe-specific cook instructions to your grill, so you can focus on other things and not worry about when to change temperatures. The Make Now feature also pins the selected recipe to your grill's dashboard on the app.

  1. Find the recipe of your choice within the Traeger App.
  2. Turn on your grill.
  3. Select Make Now.
  4. Select the grill you want to use to make the recipe.
  5. Select Begin Cook. The Make Now feature will not begin until Begin Cook is selected.
  6. When using the Make Now feature, you will be unable to change the timer or the grill settings set by the recipe. 
  7. Let the grill do the work for you.

ADD AN ADDITIONAL USER IN THE TRAEGER APP

You can monitor your grill from multiple devices, so long each instance of the app is signed into the same account.

ADD ADDITIONAL GRILLS TO YOUR APP

Follow our instructions below to add a second, third, or even fourth grill.

  1. Open the Traeger App on your mobile device. Make sure you are connected to your WiFi network.
  2. Open your existing grill's dashboard.
  3. Tap on your grill's name.
  4. Select, Add Grill.
  5. Turn on the new grill and follow the pairing process: 
  6. Start Traegering!

SWITCH BETWEEN GRILLS ON THE APP

  1. On the Traeger App, you can control multiple grills at the same time.
  2. Within the app, go to the grill's homepage by tapping the banner at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap the grill's name at the top of the page to access your grills.
  4. Tap the grill you'd like to control.
  5. Traeger on!

REMOVE A GRILL FROM YOUR APP

  1. Tap the grill icon to open your grill's dashboard.
  2. Tap on your grill's name.
  3. Tap the three dots on the right side of your grill's name.
  4. Tap, Remove Grill.
