Discover the step-by-step process for effortlessly swapping out various components of your grill.
Tools Needed:
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Optional: Small piece of cardboard or paper (to cover auger inlet)
Hopper Lid Replacement
- If you have a cutting board on the hopper lid, detach it.
Note: Depending on the model, there may not be a cutting board.
- Unscrew Hinges: Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the single screw from each hinge.
- Line up the new lid's hinges with the holes on the hopper and screw them in place.
- Make sure the new lid is firmly attached.
- If you removed a cutting board, put it back on.
- Your replacement process is complete!
Pellet Guard Replacement

- Turn off and unplug grill from power.
- Place pellet bucket below pellet dump door.
- Open pellet dump door and empty all pellets from hopper. Close pellet dump door.
- To prevent screws from falling into the auger, it is recommended that you cover the inlet with something such as a small piece of cardboard or paper.
Remove Old Pellet Guard
- Remove the screws holding the old guard, if applicable, using a Phillips screwdriver.
Note: Depending on the model, there may be either one or two screws securing the grate.
- Lift off the old grate.
Install New Pellet Guard
- Position the new grate in place.
- If applicable, tighten the screws to secure the new grate.
Hopper Guard is positioned at a 45 degree angle. It is tilted upward toward the barrel.
Note: Make sure the pellet grate is oriented the correct way. If the screw holes do not line up, it's likely that the grate needs to be turned.
- Ensure the grate is firmly attached.
- Your replacement process is complete!
