A folding front grill shelf makes a great landing pad for messy grilling utensils or a cold beverage. Prep like a pro and keep your tools of the barbecue trade on hand for every turn in the BBQ process.
Traeger has two types of folding front shelf: one designed for our newest grills that have a P.A.L Pop-and-Lock Accessory Rail, and a version for grills without the P.A.L rail.

How to Install a P.A.L Front Folding Shelf
Use the steps below to install your front folding shelf.
Tips & Tricks
- For easier installation, first attach plastic clips onto rail at approximate location where you would like to install shelf.
- Shelf cannot be positioned on sides of grill – it must be fastened to shelf supports on front of grill above cabinet.
- Slide metal brackets onto plastic clips. Move brackets as needed to attach them to shelf.
- Wash with soap and water. Dry thoroughly.
Installation Steps
- Using hardware included attach the handles provided to the sides of your shelf.
- Take the right and left shelf bracket and remove the thin screw circled in red.
- Remove the center screw on the side of the brackets circled in red.
- Place the brackets on the PAL Rail where you would like the Shelf to be.
- NOTE: The Shelf will not fit on the PAL Rails on the sides of the grill.
- With the brackets on the PAL Rail, screw the thin screws from Step 2 into the brackets. Leave the screws loose enough for the brackets to slide on the PAL Rail until the shelf is fully installed.
- Now holding the handles of the shelf place your shelf onto the brackets so the top screw of the bracket sets into the upright locked position for your shelf.
- With the shelf in its upright locked position, screw in the short Screws from Step 3 into each bracket. Your installed Shelf should match the picture below.
