How to Replace a Lid

Applicable SKUS

  • Second person recommended

Replacement Steps:

IMPORTANT: Remember to remove the lid handle from the old lid and install it onto the new lid.

  1. Turn off and unplug the grill from power.
  2. Remove the Old Lid
    1. Open the grill lid. From the inside of the grill, remove the cotter pin from both the right and left hinges (1 pin each side) by pulling on the looped end.

    2. Person 1: Hold the grill lid in place
      Person 2: Push the two clevis pins out of the grill lid/backsplash and remove the two 3/8" washers (1 on each side).

    3. With the help of another person, carefully lift the lid off of the grill and set aside.

  3. Install the New Lid
    1. With the help of another person, carefully lift the new lid into place on the grill in the open position, aligning the lid and back splash's hinge holes.
    2. While one person holds the lid in place, the other pushes the two clevis pins through the holes (1 on each side).
    3. Inside the lid, place the two 3/8" washers onto the clevis pins (1 on each side).
    4. Install the two cotter pins into the clevis pins (1 on each side).
  4. Remove the lid handle from the old lid and install on the new lid.
  5. Service complete.

Replacement Instructions

  1. Remove the existing lid bumper, located on the back of the grill where the lid meets the body, by gripping the bumper and pulling upward.

  2. Install the new lid bumper by pushing the bumper into the bumper hole. You may need to pull from pointed end on backside and twist to get the ring through the hole.

How to Replace a Lid Handle

Tools Needed & Pro Tips

  • #2 Phillips Screwdriver
  • Est. Time to Complete: 5 minutes

Replacement Instructions:

  1. Turn off and unplug the grill from power.
  2. Open the grill lid.
  3. Remove the lid handle by unscrewing the two screws with washers from the inside of the lid. Remove the mica gaskets that sit between the handle and the lid from the outside of the lid.

  4. Place the new handle on the lid with the mica gaskets sandwiched between the lid and the handle, lining up the handle and lid holes.

  5. Fasten the handle to the lid using the two new screws with washers that came with the new handle.
  6. Service Complete.

How to Replace a Lid Hinge Pin

Tools Needed & Pro Tips

  • Recommended: Second person
  • Est. Time to Complete: 5 minutes

Replacement Instructions

  1. Turn off and unplug the grill from power.
  2. Open the grill lid and remove the upper grill grate.
  3. Pull off the cotter pin from the left hinge pin inside the grill by grabbing the looped end. Repeat on the right side.

  4. Person 1- hold the grill lid in place while person 2 pushes the two clevis pin hinges out of the grill lid and backsplash. Remove the two washers.
    • There is 1 clevis pin hinge & 1 washer on each side of the lid.

  5. Install the replacement clevis pin hinge(s) in the lid by pushing through the lid and backsplash holes you've lined up.
  6. Push the two cotter pins in both lid clevis pin hinges.
