What Does the Grill Do when this Message Occurs?

The grill continues to cook but cannot use the faulty wired meat probe.

 

What Causes the Error/Notification?

A short circuit is detected in one of the wired meat probes.

NOTE: A short-circuit is not the only way a wired meat probe can become faulty, but it is currently the only fault condition reported as a “Bad Probe.”

 

What to Do

IF your grill and or app is showing a bad probe alert, select your grill below for next steps.

D2 WiFIRE Grills

 

Steps

  1. Check your grill's firmware to make sure it's on the current version.
  2. Unplug the meat probe and plug it back in.
    1. Make sure the meat probe is pushed in all the way; the jack should be flush with the port.

    2. The grill will beep, letting you know that the probe has been inserted. 
  3. If the error continues, Clear Notifications
    • Menu > Settings > Clear Notifications.
  4. Calibrate the probe.
    • MenuSettings > Probe Calibration
  5. If unable to calibrate or if calibrating does not resolve the error, replace the meat probe.
  6. Contact Customer Support with any additional questions or to troubleshoot further and see if you can utilize your grill's warranty.

  2. Replace the meat probe.
  3. Contact Customer Support with any additional questions or to troubleshoot further and see if you can utilize your grill's warranty.

Steps

  1. Plug both meat probes into the probe jacks on the controller.
  2. Switch the probes in the probe jacks.
  3. Look to see if the error is following the meat probe.
  4. If it is following the meat probe, replace the probe.
  5. If the error appears no matter which probe is plugged into the probe jack, contact customer service.
