Instructions for how to replace the power cord and power switch on a Westwood and Westwood XL grill.

Power Cord and Power Switch Replacement Instructions
Estimated Time to Complete
- Approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Removing the Old Power Cord
- Power off and unplug the grill.
- Remove the x6 screws from the hopper service panel on the side of the hopper in the following order:
- Remove x2 screws on the back of the panel by the vents first.
- Remove x2 screws on the bottom of the panel second.
Remove x2 screws on the side of the panel last.
Hold the panel with one hand so it doesn't fall when removing the final screws.
- Remove x2 screws on the back of the panel by the vents first.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the controller by unplugging the white Molex connector.
- Using pliers, squeeze the plastic strain relief that holds the power cord in place.
- Pull the power cord out through the mounting hole.
- Disconnect the ground wire from the weld stud (hold on to the nut so it can be used to re-attach the ground wire).
- Cut the zip tie holding it in place.
- Remove power cord.
- Disconnect the x2 red connections on the back of the power switch.
- If also replacing the power switch, pinch the latches on the power switch in from inside the hopper cavity and slide the power switch out towards the outside of the grill.
- If also replacing the power switch, pinch the latches on the power switch in from inside the hopper cavity and slide the power switch out towards the outside of the grill.
Installing the New Power Cord
- If replacing the power switch, slide the new power switch through the mounting hole ensuring it snaps into place.
- Feed the new power cord through the mounting hole and ensure the plastic strain relief snaps into place.
- Plug in the x2 red connectors to the back of the power switch.
- Reattach the white Molex connector to the back of the controller.
- Reattach the grounding wire to the weld stud.
- Replace the zip ties to hold wires together and keep them away from fan blades.
- Replace the hopper service panel using the x6 screws.
- Install the x2 screws on the side panel, followed by the x2 screws on the bottom, and lastly the x2 screws on the back of the panel.
- Make sure the top part and the back of the panel go inside the hopper enclosure.
