This article will review what to do if your non-WiFIRE grill is having controller display issues.
Blank/Black Screen
Check to see if the grill is receiving power
- Is the grill plugged into an extension cord?
- There may be a problem with the extension cord. Try plugging the grill into the outlet directly.
- Inspect the power cord to make sure there are no kinks or damages.
- If you have a GFI or GCFI outlet (an outlet with a small center button, commonly found in bathrooms or near water), check to see if it tripped.
- If the outlet tripped, reset the outlet by pressing the center button.
-
If the grill is receiving power but the controller screen is blank or black, please contact Customer Support

Screen Flashes on Briefly and then Turns Off
When the controller flashes on briefly and then turns off, more than likely the controller knob is in shutdown mode. This is normal behavior when a grill is turned on and the dial is set to shut down.
- Plug in and turn on the grill.
- Move the dial to SMOKE. The controller display should turn on.
- If it doesn't turn on, please contact Customer Support.
Other Controller Display Issues
If you are experiencing any of the other following issues, please contact Customer Support.
- The grill components are turning on, but the digital display does not (i.e. blank screen).
- The controller has damage that is preventing it from functioning properly, such as a broken knob, burn marks or cracked screen.
- The display numbers are missing sections or are dimmed on the controller screen.
- The digital display only shows 3 dashes (---).
- The display only shows 888.
- Error codes are stuck on the display, even after unplugging the grill.
