How to Access Auger Motor Pin

  1. Remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the hopper, holding the hopper grate in place.
  2. Remove the 4 screws securing the hopper to the grill.
  3. Carefully pull away the hopper grate and hopper shell.
  4. The customer will be able to access the auger motor and auger motor pin.
    • If the auger pin is bent, the customer can use some pliers to try to straighten it enough to pull it out.

Missing/Broken Auger Motor Pin

If the auger motor pin is missing, it likely came loose in shipping and can be found inside the grill. If you can locate it rather than replace it, you will not have to wait for the replacement.

  1. Look in the hopper and jiggle the grill to see if the auger pin is floating around inside the grill.
  2. Check around the area that the grill is/was getting assembled. The auger motor pin sometimes falls out into the box or onto the ground.
  3. If you can't find the auger motor pin, replace the pin.

Pin Keeps Falling Out

Auger motor pins from years ago used to break on occasion; however, we redesigned them to prevent this, so you should not see any issue with them breaking. If you come across a pin that does break, replace the auger motor pin.

Because auger motor pins have a nut to keep the pin in place, you should not experience them falling out, but if the grill came with a Quick Release pin, you may replace the pin with an auger motor pin. The hole the Quick Release pin uses will fit the nut-and-bolt style auger motor pin.
