How to Replace a Pellet Sensor on Touchscreen Grills
Before removing the hopper service panel: check your grill’s manufacturer date.
- June 2023 (2306) or after: Proceed to remove service panel.
- Before June 2023 (2305): Remove the access panel using an impact driver to prevent the possibility of stripped screws. If you don't have one on-hand, contact Traeger Support.
After removing the service panel screws:
- Ensure grill is off and unplugged.
- Disconnect the pellet sensor harness from the pellet sensor.
- Follow the harness wire and disconnect the pellet sensor harness from the motherboard.
- Cut zip tie that holds harness wires and remove the old pellet sensor harness. Add new pellet sensor wire harness to group of wires and zip tie.
- Pro Tip: Leave enough slack to reach motherboard and pellet sensor connection.
- Connect the new pellet sensor harness to the motherboard.
- Connect new pellet sensor harness to the pellet sensor connection.
- Attach smart combustion cover.
- Attach hopper side access panel.
