The hot rod service panel on Touchscreen holds the hot rod and the flame sensor, both of which are replaced with a new hot rod service panel. Depending on when you received a replacement, you received one of two versions of the ignitor assembly. Select the proper replacement instructions below:

Replacing a Hot Rod Service Panel
To replace the hot rod on a new Timberline or Ironwood grill, we suggest replacing the entire Ignitor & Flame Sensor Assembly. The AC Ignitor Wire Harness (KIT0685) needs to be replaced at the same time. Check Wiring Harnesses to see how it all connects.

Tools Needed
- Phillips screwdriver
- Open the cabinet door.
- Remove 4 screws holding the hot rod service panel in place.
- The hot rod service panel will drop down and allow access to the Hot rod.
- Disconnect the two connecters for the hot rod and flame sensor.
- Remove screw that is holding hot rod to service panel.
- Slide hot rod out
- Replace with new hot rod making sure the end of the hot rod is only exposed about 3/4" (20 mm).
- Remove QR code sticker prior to installing.
- Reinstall screw that holds hot rod to service panel.
- Connect the connections for the new Ignitor and Flame Sensor Assembly.
- Reinstall the 4 screws on the assembly base to secure it to the grill.
How to Replace a Firepot & Ignitor Assembly
To replace the hot rod on a Touchscreen Timberline or Ironwood grill, it's easier to replace the entire Ignitor & Flame Sensor Assembly. When doing this, you must also replace the firepot.

- Manual Impact Driver

Ignitor Assembly Replacement
- Unplug the grill from the outlet.
- Open the cabinet door (for Timberline grills).
- Remove the igniter access panel by unscrewing the four screws. Be cautious of falling ash and pellet debris
. - Disconnect the igniter and flame sensor wire connectors to remove the panel.
- Remove the hopper side service panel by unscrewing six screws (two on top, two below the hopper side rail, and two on the bottom).
- Remove the hopper service panel using a manual impact driver.
Pro Tip: Removing the P.A.L Rail first can make this easier.
- Remove the hopper service panel using a manual impact driver.
- Locate the ground wire in the service kit. Attach one ring connector to the ground stud using the existing nut.
- Feed the ground wire through the grommet at the bottom of the hopper near the power strip.
- Pull the ground wire through the igniter hole in the grill barrel.
- Connect the ground wire to the new igniter access panel assembly.
- Connect the igniter and flame sensor wire connectors.
- Secure the new igniter access panel to the grill with four screws.
- Reinstall the hopper side service panel with the six screws.
Firepot Replacement
- Open the grill lid and remove the grates, drip tray, and heat shield.
- Remove the old firepot by lifting the tab beneath the auger and pulling upwards.
- Slide the new firepot in place, ensuring the threaded rod goes through the hole in the igniter access panel.
Note: Remove any cardboard in the ignitor cavity if assembling a grill for the first time. - Fasten the firepot with the wing nut provided.
- Reinstall internal components.
- Plug in the grill, power it on, and update the firmware.
