The instructions outlined in this article apply to Timberline and Ironwood models with a touchscreen controller, which use the following item numbers:

Replacement Instructions
Replacing an Auger
- Turn off and unplug the grill.
- Remove the hopper service panel (right panel), using a manual impact driver to unscrew the four screws holding the panel to the hopper.
Before removing the hopper service panel: check your grill’s manufacturer date.
- June 2023 (2306) or after: Proceed to remove service panel.
- Before June 2023 (2305): Remove the access panel using an impact driver to prevent the possibility of stripped screws. If you don't have one on-hand, contact Traeger Support.
- Find the auger motor and disconnect the 4-wire molex connector from the motor.
- Remove the four Phillips-head screws holding the motor in place.
- Pull the auger motor away from the grill.
- Remove the Phillips-head screw to the right of the screw that holds the X in place.
- Pull out the X.
- Grip the end of the auger and pull it out of the auger tube.
- Insert the new auger into the auger tube and push it into place.
- Replace the X, making sure it inserts into the bushing's two ridges.
- Insert and tighten the Phillips-head screw to secure the X in place.
- Align the auger motor with the partial circle at the end of the auger.
- Rotate the auger motor to align with four screw holes together.
- Insert and tighten the four Phillips-head screws to secure the auger motor.
- Reconnect the 4-wire molex connector to the auger motor.
- Replace the hopper service panel.
Replacing an Auger Motor
- Turn off and unplug the grill.
- Remove the hopper service panel (right panel), using a manual impact driver to unscrew the four screws holding the panel to the hopper.
Before removing the hopper service panel: check your grill’s manufacturer date.
- June 2023 (2306) or after: Proceed to remove service panel.
- Before June 2023 (2305): Remove the access panel using an impact driver to prevent the possibility of stripped screws. If you don't have one on-hand, contact Traeger Support.
- Find the auger motor and disconnect the wires from the motor.
- Remove the four Phillips-head screws holding the motor in place.
- Pull the auger motor away from the grill.
- Align the auger motor with the partial circle at the end of the auger.
- Rotate the auger motor to align with four screw holes together.
- Insert and tighten the four Phillips-head screws to secure the auger motor.
- Reconnect the 4-wire molex connector to the auger motor.
- Replace the hopper service panel.
