How to Replace the Auger & Auger Motor on a Portable Grill

Auger Replacement Steps 

Tools Needed

  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • Small Pliers 

Estimated Time to Complete

  • 15 minutes

Remove Old Auger

  1. Open the grill and remove the following 5 screws using a Phillips screwdriver:
    • 1 inside grill barrel
    • 2 on opposite sides of the hopper
    • 2 on the controller

  2. Push the controller through the opening to inside of the hopper.

  3. Grab the handle inside the barrel and lift up. Lean the contents on the inside of the lid.

  4. Cut the zip ties holding the wires together.
  5. Undo the Molex connector for the red wires.

  6. Remove the screw holding the 2 grounding wires (1 green, 1 green and yellow) in place and unhook grounding wires.

  7. Remove the 4 screws holding the auger motor in place.

  8. Pull out the auger motor and locate the auger pin.

  9. Using small pliers, remove the auger pin and slide the auger out.
  10. Put the new auger in place and replace the auger pin.
  11. Follow the steps in reverse to put grill back together.
Auger Motor Replacement Steps

  8. Pull out the auger motor and replace with the new motor.
  9. Follow the steps in reverse to put grill back together.
