Replacement Steps
The following instructions detail how to replace a full chimney assembly including the chimney cap, pipe, and chimney-barrel gasket. Modify according to which or all parts you are replacing.
Pro Tip: The Fremont and Mesa 20 models do not have a chimney-barrel gasket.
Remove Old Chimney Assembly

- 5 minutes
- Turn off your grill and make sure it's cool to the touch.
- Unscrew the chimney from the chimney pipe.
- Open the grill lid and find the two nuts secured to the screws that hold the chimney in place.
Depending on your grill, the chimney may be on the left or the right side. - Using a wrench to keep the nuts in place, use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the two chimney screws.
- Remove the two screws, four washers, and two nuts and set aside.
- Pull the chimney pipe away from the grill, and carefully remove the fiberglass chimney-barrel gasket.
- Depending on age and wear, the chimney-barrel gasket may come off in pieces and will not be able to be reused.
Install New Chimney Assembly

- Carefully take the new fiberglass chimney-barrel gasket and align it with the base of the chimney pipe against the chimney opening on the side of the grill.
Depending on your grill, the chimney may be on the left or the right side. - Install the two screws, four washers, and two nuts to secure the chimney in place, keeping the screws on the grill's exterior and the nuts inside the grill barrel.
- Tighten using a Phillips screwdriver and a wrench to keep the nuts from turning with the screws.
- Screw on the chimney cap, leaving approximately a thumb's space (¾ inch or 2cm) between the top of the chimney pipe and the bottom of the cap.
