How to remove your hopper service panel, sometimes called the hopper access panel or side panel.

Hopper Service Panel Location
On new Touchscreen grills, the access panel is on the right side of the hopper.
It can be removed to access the internal components of the motherboard. From here, you can also access the auger motor assembly, the display/controller, and the internal cooling fan.
Removing/Replacing a Hopper Service Panel
When replacing any service part, replace all components included in the service part packaging: hardware, wiring, connectors, etc.
IMPORTANT: Before proceeding
Before removing the hopper access panel, check the grill’s manufacture date to avoid stripped screws. You can find your manufacturer date within your serial number.- Grill's manufacturer date after June 2023 (2306) = does not need an impact diver
- Grill's manufacturer date before June 2023 (2305) = an impact driver is needed to remove the hopper service panel. Follow instruction below.
If you need to remove your Timberline or Ironwood's service panel for troubleshooting purposes or to replace a part, and do not have an impact driver, contact customer service, and we'll send you an impact driver along with new screws.
Once Service Panel Screws are Removed
- Remove the hopper side P.A.L rail.
- Confirm you have a good fit between the 2" screwdriver bit and the screw.
- These screws can strip if using an ill-fitting bit/screwdriver or drill. Proceed with caution, being aware of if the screw starts stripping. If the screw begin stripping, contact our customer service.
- Remove the two screws below the P.A.L rail first, apply moderate pressure to the screws with the driver and remove.
- Remove the remaining hopper access panel screws: 2 screws on the top of the panel and 2 screws on the bottom angled surface.
- Pull the access panel from the hopper.
- To replace the hopper access panel, put the new panel on and reinsert screws in reverse order from above.
