Controller Buttons Unresponsive

Symptoms

The buttons on the controller are not responding when pressed.

  1. Check the controller screen for dirt and grease. If the screen is dirty, clean it off with soap and warm water.
  2. Please Ensure:
    • Not pressing too hard on the buttons. (they are capacitive touch buttons)
    • Using your full fingertip when pressing (without gloves and covering as much of the button as possible, not just one side)
    • Holding down the buttons for a little longer. 
    • It may be necessary to remove the plastic cover of the controller to allow the sensors to receive the touch input
  3. Power cycle the grill and try pressing the buttons again.
  4. What is the weather like? If it is extremely hot or extremely cold, the controller buttons may not work as intended.
    • If this is the issue, you can use the app to control the grill.
  5. If none of the steps listed above fix the issue, contact customer service for additional assistance.
