How to Replace the Induction Fan on a Portable Grill

Tools Needed

  • 1/4" Wrench or Nut Driver
  • Phillips Screwdriver

Estimated Time to Complete

  • 15-20 minutes

Induction Fan Replacement Steps

  1. Open grill and remove the following 5 screws using a Phillips screwdriver:
    • 1 inside grill barrel
    • 2 on opposite sides of the hopper
    • 2 on the controller

  2. Push controller through the opening to inside of the hopper.

  3. Grab the handle inside the barrel and lift up. Lean the contents on the inside of the lid.

  4. Cut the zip ties holding the wiring together. 
  5. Locate the induction fan and remove the three bolts from the corners using a 1/4" wrench.

  6. Cut the zip ties holding the power cord and unhook the orange wire harness.

  7. Pull out the induction fan and replace with new fan.
  8. Replace the 3 bolts holding the fan in place.
  9. Reconnect the orange wire harness.
  10. Replace the grill contents back into the grill barrel ensuring that the wires are not getting pinched or caught in the fan.
  11. Pull the controller back through the opening.
  12. Replace the 5 screws.
