Auger Spinning Backward - AC Grills

This article explains what to do if a grill's auger is rotating backward.

A properly functioning auger should turn toward the front of the grill. It is very rare that an auger will rotate backward, but if you see that it is rotating backwards, follow the steps below:

1. If you can see that the auger is spinning backward, replace the auger motor.
   • Replacing an auger motor on a D2 Grill.
   • Replacing an auger motor on a AC Grill.
2. If the auger continues to spin backwards with a replacement, replace the controller.
