Tools Needed

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • 830 hex socket screwdriver
  • Pliers

How to Replace a Power Cord

  1. Turn off and unplug your grill.
  2. Make sure the hopper is empty of any pellets.
  3. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the two screws holding the controller to the hopper.
  4. Once unscrewed, push the controller back into the slot and in the hopper.
  5. Remove the four screws that connect the hopper to the barrel of the grill.
    1. There are two screws in front, and two in the back.
  6. Lift and remove the hopper from the grill. Set that aside.
  7. Proceed to unplug the black molex connectors coming from the power cord.
  8. Loosen the 830 ground screws holding the green grounding wire.
  9. With pliers, squeeze the plastic piece holding the wire in place. Remove the wire and feed it through the mounting hole.
  10. Now you are ready to put in the new power cord.
  11. First, feed the wire through the mounting hole. 
  12. Install the green grounding wire properly, making sure to screw in the screw to keep it in place. 
  13. Make sure the plug the molex connector back into the controller.
  14. Reattach the hopper to the barrel, screw all 4 screws back in.
  15. Reassemble the controller.
