The ignitor module provides power to the ignitors, allowing them to produce the sparks that ignite the propane being emitted from the grill's burners, and produces the clicking sound when engaged by a user pressing the IGNITE button on the grill's controller UI board.
The ignitor module is located next to the motherboard on the control panel housing, which is located within the griddle's control housing underneath the grill. It attaches to the control housing panel using two Phillips screws.
This article includes step-by-step instructions for how to replace the 9V spark ignitor module on your Traeger Flatrock 3-Zone grill. Includes part numbers, required tools, and estimated completion time.

Replacement Steps
- Turn off and unplug the griddle. Remove the 9V battery, if installed.
- Remove the two thumb screws that hold the control housing panel in place.
- Find the ignitor module.
- Disconnect the ignitors (x3) and the ignitor harness from the ignitor module by pulling them out of the module.
- Unscrew the two screws holding the ignitor module in place and remove the old module.
- Position the new ignitor module in place and screw in the two Phillips screws to secure it to the control housing panel.
- Insert the three ignitor harness connections as shown here:
- Insert the three ignitors into the ignitor slots.
Pro Tip: It doesn't matter which ignitor goes into which spot.
- Make sure all connections to the motherboard are securely attached.
- Close the control housing panel and tighten the thumb screws.
- Confirm the new ignitor module works by powering on the grill, pressing IGNITE, and listening for the module's clicking sound. Confirm the ignitors are sparking by removing the cooktop, pressing IGNITE and looking for sparks.
- If no sparks appear or if no clicking occurs, see Flatrock 3-Zone not Igniting.
Informational: Ignitor Module Connection Points
- Connected to the 9V spark ignitor module are the ignitors and the ignitor harness.
- The ignitors connect directly into the ignitor module. It doesn't matter which ignitor goes in which ignitor slot on the ignitor module.
- The ignitor harness connects the motherboard to the ignitor module. Placement of these wires does matter.
