Burner Knob Replacement Steps for Flat Top Grills

  1. Pull off the old knob.
  2. Press new knob into groove.

Control Panel Replacement for Flatrock 3-Zone

Tools Needed

  • Phillips Screwdriver

Estimated Time to Complete

  • 10 minutes

Before Performing Any Replacement Steps:

  • Turn burner knobs to OFF position, unplug the grill from power, close the propane tank, and disconnect the regulator
  • Remove the griddle knobs
  1. Fold down the righthand side shelf, exposing 2 screws.

  2. Remove the side shelf by removing the 2 screws on the front bracket and the 2 screws on the back bracket.

    Important: Be sure to hold on to the shelf so it does not drop when removing the front screws.
  3. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws at the bottom of the control board.

  4. From underneath the grill, open the main control housing by removing the 2 thumb screws that hold it in place.

  5. Pull the wire harness out to remove the control panel. Cut the zip tie in order to provide enough slack for the wires.
  6. Slide the control panel to the right until is stops and pull the panel away from the wall of the grill body.

    Pro Tip: Jiggle the control panel and lift upward to get it off the mounting screws.
  7. Disconnect the wire harness from the main control board.

  8. Fully remove the control panel and wire harness. Pull the wire harness completely through the slot by moving the control panel away from the grill.
  9. Feed the new wire control board wire harness through the slot the old one came out of. 
  10. Position the new control board onto the mounting screws and slide left until it is secure in place with the two screws you removed in step 2.
  11. Connect the new wire harness and reattach the control housing with the 2 thumb screws you removed in step 3. 
  12. Replace the righthand side shelf.
  13. Install burner knobs.
Control Panel Replacement for Flatrock 2-Zone

  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • 3/8" Wrench

  • 10 minutes

Before Performing Any Replacement Steps:

  • Turn burner knobs to OFF position, unplug the grill from power, close the propane tank, and disconnect the regulator
  • Remove the griddle knobs
  1. Fold down the righthand side shelf, exposing 2 bolts.

  2. Remove the side shelf by removing the 2 bolts on the front bracket and the 2 bolts on the back bracket.

    Pro Tip: Be sure to hold the shelf so it does not drop when removing the screws.
    You may need the help of another person for this as the shelf can be awkward to remove.
  3. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws at the bottom of the control board.

  4. Slide the control panel to the right until it stops and pull the panel away from the wall of the grill body. 
    • This at times can be tricky. It helps to jiggle the control panel and lift upward to get it off the mounting screws. This may take some effort to get the panel to come off.
  5. Position the new control panel onto the mounting screws and slide left until it is secure in place with the two screws you removed.
  6. Replace the side shelf.
  7. Install burner knobs.
