Traeger Wireless Probe vs MEATER 

Overall, Traeger Wireless probes are the exact same probes as standard MEATER probes, other than how they pair and the app experience. 

Traeger Wireless Meat Thermometers work with Traeger Touchscreen Grills and Traeger Woodridge Series grills and the Traeger app. MEATER Probes only work with the MEATER app. This would mean that functions that are app specific will only work with its corresponding probe. Example: MEATER's app allows for views of the probe's ambient and internal temperature. This will not be possible for Traeger wireless probes as they connect to the Traeger app.

Traeger Wireless Meat Probes

Traeger probes pair with Traeger's Touchscreen grills and Woodridge Series Grills. They pair directly with the grill and are managed either through the grill's controller or through the Traeger app.

These Probes are intended to be used in conjunction with the grill. Since the probe connects to the grill, the grill's controller has to be on in order for you to read the probes temperature on the grill. Essentially, while it may not be a fluid process, one can finish a cook on the Induction Cooktop or other approved cooking avenues, as long as the controller is still on.

While the grill does not need to be connected to WiFi to pair the probe, the grill does need to be connected in order to see and control the probes internal temp on the Traeger app. 

These probes will not pair with the MEATER app. Likewise, traditional MEATER probes will not pair with Traeger's Timberline and Ironwood grills. 

MEATER Probes

MEATER Probes do not need to connect to our grills to work. MEATER Probes pair with the Charging Dock and the connect to the MEATER App. MEATER Probes can work as an internal temperature reader for use with a grill or other cooking avenues (cooking avenues are dependent of probe capabilities).

These probes will only pair with the MEATER app. MEATER probes will not pair with Traeger's Timberline and Ironwood grills.
