Flame Sensor Replacement Instructions - Flat Top Grill

Steps to replace a flame sensor on a Traeger flat top grill.

Replacing a Flat Top Grill Flame Sensor

TOOLS NEEDED: Phillips Screwdriver

1. Move all control knobs are in the OFF position. Unplug the grill from power, close the propane tank valve, and disconnect the regulator from the propane tank.
2. Open the lid and remove the cooktop.
3. Remove the Phillips-head screw holding flame sensor in place.
4. Lift the defective sensor up and pull it out. It will be attached to the wire harness.
   • If the customer finds that the wire doesn't move enough to give them room to remove the flame sensor, there is a zip tie holding the wire in place below the griddle they can cut.
5. Separate the flame sensor and the wiring harness by gripping the flame sensor in one hand and the wire harness in the other and pulling them apart.
   The flame sensor should disconnect from the harness with ease
   
6. Slide the new flame sensor into the wire harness.

7. With the new flame sensor attached, reinstall the Phillip's-head screw.
8. Replace the cooktop and reconnect the regulator hose to the propane tank.
