Cause

The ignitor’s voltage does not match the voltage of the power system (i.e., a 120VAC ignitor is used on a 220VAC power system or vice versa)

This safety check only runs during grill seasoning. The most common cause of this error is the grill shipping with the wrong ignitor. Using a non-Traeger ignitor could also potentially cause this error.

What Does the Grill Do when this Error Occurs?

This is a critical error. The grill will shut down.

What to Do

  1. Check your grill's firmware to make sure it's on the latest version.
  2. Season the grill again:
    1. Power cycle the grill.
      1. Turn off the grill using the power button on the front of the grill and unplug the grill.
      2. Ensure the grill is off for 30 seconds.
      3. Plug in the grill and turn it on.
    2. Once the grill has powered up, season the grill
      • This will run the safety check to validate the ignitor, clear the error, and then perform the check. If the ignitor is not recognized, the grill will shut down.
  3. If the error continues, contact Customer Support.
