If your Traeger grill lost WiFi connection, a few quick steps can get you back online. Try power-cycling the grill, refreshing the app, and re-pairing it. If further steps are needed, this article will guide you through the additional steps to restore your grill’s WiFi and get back to grilling.
Am I in the right Article?
If your grill was connected to WiFi and lost connection or appears offline, you're in the right place.
- If your grill has never been connected to WiFi and won't connect: Go to Pairing Troubleshooting for First-Time Connecting.
Quick Steps to Reconnect
- Close and reopen the Traeger app.
- Move the grill closer to the router. If that's not possible, turn the grill so the front faces the router.
- Power cycle the grill.
If your grill still shows offline, check the following:
- Did you recently move, change internet providers or routers, or update your network password? Go to Connecting a Grill After Moving or New ISP/Router
- Have you recently replaced your controller or hopper assembly? Your old QR code won't work anymore. To connect, scan the new QR code that came with the replacement controller or hopper assembly, or pair without using the QR code.
- Have you recently replaced a part that connects to the controller or motherboard? Verify the part is securely connected.
- Is your grill in Demo Mode? If so, switch it out of Demo Mode.
- Is your controller connected to WiFi? From your grill's controller menu, find WiFi Information. If your home WiFi network appears, but it still shows offline in the app, go to Grill Appears Offline in the App.
- Did you get an error in the app or on your grill? Go to Pairing Errors & Alerts and open the article that matches the error.
Still Can't Reconnect?
If your grill still shows as offline, let's check its WiFi connection.
Diagnose connectivity easily using our custom self-serve app, RouteThis Helps.
- Download the RouteThis Helps app for iOS or Android.
- Open the app > tap Begin > enter code TRGR.
- Stand next to your grill and tap, Network Scan. Keep the app open during the 2-minute scan.
- Tap Improve Traeger Performance and follow the instructions in the app.
- Once all RouteThis instructions are completed, try pairing again to see if the connectivity issue is resolved.
Don't want to try the app? Diagnose your connection manually.
- Review our Pre-Pairing Checklist and Home WiFi Setup articles to ensure your WiFi is set up properly for grill pairing.
- Clear the grill's saved data. Similar to clearing your computer's cache or cookies, let's make sure your grill isn't holding onto old information
- Do a WiFi Reset on the grill.
- Power cycle the grill and pair your grill again.
