Traeger grills do not have remote or automatic start features and must be manually ignited. If you suspect your grill ignited on its own, check for smoke or heat. If smoke or heat is present, leave the grill as is, if safe to do so, and contact Customer Support.

What to Do If You Think Your Grill Has Ignited on Its Own
Safety Notice: For safety, none of Traeger's grills are equipped with a remote or automatic start feature. You must manually turn on and ignite your grill before every cook. If the customer believes their grill has ignited on its own, please follow the steps listed below.
If you believe your grill has ignited on its own, do the following:
Look for Smoke: Check whether smoke is coming from the grill, indicating there is an active pellet burn.

Check for Heat: Carefully open the grill lid and run your hand over the grill to feel for signs of heat.
- If there is no heat or smoke, chances are the fan turned on, but the ignitor did not actually turn on.
- If you see smoke or feel heat, leave the grill in its current state if it is safe to do so and contact Customer Support.
