How to Replace Legs and Wheels on an IronTop Griddle

Tools Needed

  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • Open-end Wrench
  • Blanket or Cardboard
Pro Tip: Having a second person available to help lay the grill on its back is recommended.

Caster Wheel Replacement Steps

  • 10 minutes

Remove Old Caster Wheel

Before Performing Any Replacement Steps:

  • Turn burner knobs to OFF position, close the propane tank
  • Disconnect the regulator hose

  • Open the lid and remove the cooktop
  1. Open the lid and remove the x2 screws on each lid bracket.

  2. Lift the lid off.
  3. With the help of another person, gently set the grill on its back.

    Pro Tip: Place a blanket or piece of cardboard on the ground to prevent the grill from getting scratched.
  4. Screw off the caster wheel being replaced using an open-end wrench.

Install New Caster Wheel

  1. Screw the new caster wheel onto the leg and tighten using an open-end wrench.
  2. With the help of another person, stand the grill up.
  3. Place the lid onto the grill body in the open position.
  4. Replace the x2 lid bracket screws on each side of the lid.

  5. Replace the cooktop and close the lid.
  6. Reattach the regulator hose (do not overtighten).
Leg Replacement Steps

  • 15 minutes

Remove Old Leg

Before Performing Any Replacement Steps:

  • Turn burner knobs to OFF position
  • Close propane tank and disconnect the regulator hose

  • Remove grease bucket
  • Open the lid and remove the cooktop
  1. Open the lid and remove the x2 screws on each lid bracket.

  2. Lift the lid off.
  3. Remove the x2 screws from the top of the leg being replaced.
  4. With the help of another person, gently set the grill on its back.

    Pro Tip: Place a blanket or piece of cardboard on the ground to prevent the grill from getting scratched.
  5. Remove the x2 screws hooking the shelf to the legs from each corner of the bottom shelf.

  6. Remove the bottom shelf.
  7. Remove the x2 screws from the leg being replaced and remove the leg.
  8. Remove the caster wheel out of the leg and set aside to use on the new leg.

Install New Leg

  1. Place the new leg on the grill, lining up the screw holes.
  2. Replace the x2 screws (do not tighten all the way).

  3. Replace the caster wheel onto the leg.
  4. Place bottom shelf on the grill, lining up the screw holes on each leg.

  5. Replace the x2 screws on each leg to secure the bottom shelf.
  6. Fully tighten the x2 screws on the new leg.
  7. With the help of another person, stand the grill upright.
  8. Replace the x2 top leg screws.
  9. Place the lid onto the grill body in the open position.
  10. Replace the x2 lid bracket screws on each side of the lid.

  11. Replace the cooktop and close the lid.
  12. Reattach the regulator hose (do not overtighten).
