What to do if your Flatrock 2-Zone grill won't ignite.
Possible Causes
- Propane tank empty or not open fully
- Poor connection between the regulator hose and the propane tank.
- Faulty ignitor
What to Do
- Ensure the propane tank is not empty.
-
Check Propane Regulation Connections.
- Make sure the regulator hose is tightened as much as possible to the propane tank.
- Make sure the propane tank valve is opened completely.
- Try to ignite the grill again. If ignition fails turn the burner knobs to the off position, close the propane tank valve, and continue.
-
Check if Propane is getting to the burners. (Lighter or match needed)
- Remove the cooktop.
- Turn on the grill and open the propane tank valve.
- Set a burner knob to the ignite position and hold a flame near the burner.
- No Flame: See, No Gas in Burners
-
Flame: Turn off the burner, close the propane tank, and continue.
- NOTE: Should the following steps determine a part needs to be replaced, let the customer know that they can still use their flat top grill while they wait for the part to arrive by lighting their grill manually (like you just did).
-
Check if the Ignitors Spark.
- Close the propane tank valve and disconnect the regulator from the propane tank.
- Remove the cooktop.
- Spark the ignitors by turning the knob. Look for sparks.
- If there is no spark from the ignitor or the spark is very weak, replace the ignitor.
