NEW TIMBERLINE GRILLS: POWER-RELATED ISSUES

What's in This Article?

What to do when your new Timberline grill is experiencing power-related issues.

Typically when a customer calls in saying their new Timberline grill is having power problems, it usually means one of three things:

  1. Doesn't work at all; i.e. no power or something power-related-->See below.
  2. Errors are preventing the grill from working the way it should.
  3. The grill just isn't working "right"; i.e. performance, such as grill fires, temperature issues, etc.

In this article, we will be focusing on the first: Power-related issues.

POWER-RELATED ISSUES

When dealing with the new Timberline grills, we typically see three power-related issues:

  1. Their controller display is on but is now unresponsive/frozen or is entering sleep mode.
  2. The grill is receiving power but the display will not power on.
  3. Their grill is powering off during a cook.

Continue below to the appropriate section for further guidance and troubleshooting.

1. THE DISPLAY IS NOT RESPONDING/FROZEN OR IS ENTERING SLEEP MODE

  • NOTE: Timberline (& XL) models do not have sleep mode as an official mode. Customers generally refer to "sleep-mode" when the controller doesn't "wake up."

If you are having issues with your new Timberline grill display not being responsive (it has powered on, but is now frozen and not responding), see further troubleshooting steps here: TIMBERLINE DISPLAY FROZEN.

2. THE DISPLAY IS NOT POWERING ON

In the event that your new Timberline grill is powering on, but the display is not receiving power or turning on, see troubleshooting steps for what to do here: TIMBERLINES: DISPLAY WILL NOT TURN ON.

3. THE GRILL POWERS OFF MID-COOK

If your new Timberline grill is powering off at any point during a cook (aside from Shutdown), please contact Customer Support for further assistance.
