REPLACING A TIMBERLINE PELLET SENSOR

The Traeger Pellet Sensor allows you to check the status of your pellet level remotely using the Traeger app. The Traeger Pellet Sensor comes standard on new Timberline grills which monitors the supply of pellets by communicating with the motherboard the level of pellets remaining in the hopper. Once selected from the menu, it will display the current level of pellets, in 5% increments.

HOW TO REPLACE/INSTALL A PELLET SENSOR

  1. Remove hopper side access panel.
  2. Remove smart combustion cover.
  3. Locate pellet sensor cable and disconnect from the motherboard.
  4. Open hopper lid.
  5. Remove two screws from pellet sensor mount.
  6. Pull old pellet sensor up and out of hopper, feeding connector through small hole in hopper wall.
  7. To replace, feed new pellet sensor cable through small hole in hopper wall.
  8. Fasten pellet sensor to its mounting bracket with two screws.
  9. Connect cable to the motherboard.
  10. Route cable appropriately.
  11. Attach smart combustion cover.
  12. Attach hopper side access panel.
