TIMBERLINE: IGNITOR NOT RECOGNIZED

What to do when the "Ignitor Not Recognized" appears on your new Timberline grill. 

  • This error number used to display as “0026” in firmware version 01.00.05. The error number changed to “0027” in firmware version 01.00.06.

CAUSE

The grill does not recognize the installed ignitor.

This check is performed once during grill seasoning. This error will most likely occur when a non-Traeger ignitor is installed.

 

WHAT DOES THE GRILL DO WHEN THIS ERROR OCCURS?

This is a critical error. The grill will shut down.

 

WHAT TO DO

  1. Make sure FIRMWARE is up to date.
    1. If the error number displayed is the old number, update the firmware. 

    2. On your controller display, find the ABOUT GRILL menu option or check this on the Traeger App.

  2. Season the grill again:
    1. Power cycle the grill.
      1. Turn off the grill using the power button on the front of the grill and unplug the grill.
      2. Ensure the grill is off for 30 seconds.
      3. Plug in the grill and turn it on.
    2. Once the grill has powered up, season the grill
      • This will run the safety check to validate the ignitor, clear the error, and then perform the check. If the ignitor is not recognized, the grill will shut down.
  3. If the error continues, contact Customer Support.
