ERROR 0027: IGNITOR NOT RECOGNIZED

What to do when the Error 0027: "Ignitor Not Recognized" appears on your new Timberline grill.

CAUSE

The grill does not recognize the installed ignitor.

This check is performed once during grill seasoning. This error will most likely occur when a non-Traeger ignitor is installed.

 

WHAT DOES THE GRILL DO WHEN THIS ERROR OCCURS?

This is a critical error. The grill will shut down.

 

WHAT TO DO

  1. Make sure firmware is up to date.
  2. Confirm the error by seasoning the grill:
    1. Power cycle the grill.
      1. Turn off the grill using the power button on the front of the grill and unplug the grill.
      2. Ensure the grill is off for 30 seconds.
      3. Plug in the grill and turn it on.
    2. Once the grill has powered up and is in an idle state, season the grill.
      • This will run the safety check to validate the igniter, clear the error, and then perform the check.
    3. If the igniter is not recognized the grill will shut down.
  3. If the ignitor still is not recognized, contact Customer Support.
