ERROR: 0014 AUGER JAM DETECTED

What to do when you get the Error: 0014 "Auger Jam Detected" on your new Timberline grill.

CAUSE

The grill is detecting a large current draw on the auger motor, which indicates the auger is jammed.

 

WHAT DOES THE GRILL DO WHEN THIS ERROR OCCURS?

The grill starts a shutdown cycle.

 

WHAT TO DO

Safety Considerations: The auger is very capable of causing injury. It can easily cut through a human finger. Proceed with caution.

  1. Make sure firmware is up to date.
  2. Ensure the grill is cool and finished with its shutdown cycle.
  3. Run Self Test.
    1. If the auger test does not fail, you're good to go!
    2. If auger test fails, proceed to next step.
  4. Empty the hopper to visually inspect the auger.
    1. If the auger appears to be jammed by pellets or foreign objects, unplug the grill and safely clear the auger.
      1. Ensure grill is unplugged
      2. Remove hopper access panel
      3. Disconnect and remove auger motor
      4. Remove auger bracket
      5. Remove auger
      6. Ensure auger tube is clear
      7. Reassemble auger and motor components
  5. Run Self Test.
