CAUSE

The grill has detected an unexpected current through the ignitor or does not detect an expected current.

WHAT DOES THE GRILL DO WHEN THIS ERROR OCCURS?

The grill will shut down and will not allow users to start a new cook.

WHAT TO DO

Safety Considerations: Ignitors can be hot enough to cause burns. Users should ensure that ignitors are not hot before handling them.

  1. Check your firmware version.
    1. On your controller display, find the ABOUT GRILL menu option.
      • 01.00.09 or older: allow the firmware to update. The firmware should update on its own by leaving the grill plugged in and on (not ignited).
      • 01.00.10 or newer: Continue to step 2.
  2. Ensure the grill is cool and has finished its shutdown cycle.
  3. Run SELF TEST from your controller.
    • If the ignitor still shows an error, proceed to the next step.
  4. Confirm all connectors are fully connected.
    1. Remove hopper access panel and smart combustion cover.
    2. Confirm connections are secure on the motherboard.
    3. Confirm wiring is not pinched, cut, or damaged inside hopper or grill body.
  5. Run SELF TEST from your controller.
    • If the ignitor still shows an error, proceed to the next step.
  6. Check the ignitor connection.
    1. Remove ignitor access panel from underside of grill.
    2. Ensure ignitor is fully connected.
    3. Confirm wiring is not pinched, cut, or damaged.
  7. Run the Self Test again.
