If you get an error on your grill saying, "Failed to Download Certificate Files," this means that the grill errored out while obtaining the certificates needed to migrate over to the newest firmware version. Not to worry; following some of the troubleshooting steps below should get you back grilling.
TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS
Ensure the WiFi network that the grill was connected to did not lose connection. If it did not, on the grill controller, go Menu > Settings > About Grill. Check the Firmware on this screen and follow the instructions below based on your Firmware version.
Firmware 02.01.03 or Newer
- Turn off the grill using the switch on the back.
- Unplug the grill and switch the rocker switch back on and wait 30 seconds.
- While waiting, clear the app memory on your phone
- Android: Varies with device brand, but typically found in the Device Settings or App Settings menu.
- iPhone: Delete and Re-install the App (this clears the app cache in iOS)
- Turn the switch back off and plug in the grill.
- Switch the grill back on and reset the SSID by going to the Wifi Info screen and holding the ignite button for 15 seconds. This will not give any prompts. From there, go through the connection process.
Firmware 02.01.02 or Older
- Turn off the grill using the rocker on the back.
- Unplug the grill and switch the rocker switch back on and wait 30 seconds.
