Replacing Side Shelves & Brackets on Traeger Flat Top Grills

TOOLS NEEDED:

  • Phillip's-head Screwdriver
  • 3/8"- 3/4" Wrench (if replacing P.A.L. Rail too)

REPLACEMENT STEPS

  1. Ensure all control knobs are in the OFF position. Close the propane tank valve and disconnect the regulator from the propane tank.
  2. Remove the P.A.L. rails from the grill.
    • Remove Side P.A.L. rails before the front P.A.L. rails.
    • Loosen all the bolts holding the P.A.L. rail in place. Once loosened, the P.A.L. rail should be able to be lifted off the bolts and away from the shelf.
    • Remove the bolts from the shelf and set aside. These will be used on the new shelf to reinstall the P.A.L. Rails.
  3. Fold down the shelf.
  4. Remove the 2 screws attaching the shelf to the bracket, 1 on front and 1 on back.
    • Repeat on both sides if replacing both shelves.

  5. With those 2 screws removed the shelf should be able to be separated from the grill, leaving the bracket attached.
  6. Replace the brackets (skip if only replacing the shelf).
    1. Remove the 2 screws from the front bracket, and the 2 from the back bracket.
    2. Install the new brackets.

  8. Install the 2 X rubber bumper onto the bottom of the shelf (one on each corner of the shelf).
    • You may need to push in on the center of the bumper while twisting to get the bumper in place.
