Replacing Side Shelves & Brackets on Traeger Flat Top Grills
TOOLS NEEDED:
Phillip's-head Screwdriver
1/2" - 3/8" Wrench (if replacing P.A.L Rail too)
REPLACEMENT STEPS
- Move all control knobs are in the OFF position. Unplug the grill from power, close the propane tank valve, and disconnect the regulator from the propane tank.
- Fold down the shelf.
- Remove the 4 screws attaching the shelf to the bracket, 2 on front and 2 on back
- With those 4 screws removed the shelf should be able to be separated from the grill, leaving the bracket attached.
- Replace the brackets (skip if only replacing the shelf).
- Remove the 2 screws from the front bracket, and the 2 from the back bracket.
- Install the new brackets.
- With the brackets installed, install the shelf following the steps outlined in the assembly guide.
- Partially screw in 8 screws (G) into each of the two side shelves. Do not tighten all the way.
- Insert the two side shelves into the brackets, adding an additional screw once in place.
- Install the four P.A.L Rails in the following order: Front-left > Side-left > Side-right > Front-right.
Replacing Side Shelf P.A.L Rails on Traeger Flat Top Grills

REPLACEMENT STEPS
Depending on the placement of the P.A.L rail being replaced, users may need to remove the adjacent rail as well.
- Move all control knobs are in the OFF position. Unplug the grill from power, close the propane tank valve, and disconnect the regulator from the propane tank.
- Loosen the bolts holding the applicable P.A.L rail in place. Once loosened, the P.A.L rail should be able to be lifted off the bolts and away from the shelf.
- If necessary, replace any damaged bolts.
- Place the new PAL rail onto the loosened bolts.
- Tighten bolts, making sure the P.A.L rail remains level.
